The answer to this question depends on how we model “landlocked”. In terms of land area, Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan – are the three largest landlocked countries. In terms of people residing there, Mongolia is the largest landlocked country in the world with a population of 2.7 million out of a total population of 3 million who live in Asia.
