The tallest building in the world as of 2019 is the Burj Khalifa, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The building stands at a height of 2,717 feet (828 meters). The Burj Khalifa was completed in 2010 and surpassed the previous record holder for tallest building, Taipei 101.
There are several other buildings that come close to the height of the Burj Khalifa. These include the Shanghai Tower (2,073 feet/632 meters), Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel (1,972 feet/601 meters), and One World Trade Center (1,776 feet/541 meters).
The title of tallest building in the world is often contested and there are plans for even taller buildings in the future. For example, construction is currently underway on Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia which is expected to reach a height of 3,280 feet (1 kilometer) upon completion.
