The highest point in Asia is Mount Everest, which is also the tallest mountain in the world. It stands at 8,848 metres (29,029 feet) above sea level. The summit of Everest is located on the border between Nepal and Tibet, and can be reached by climbers from both countries.
The lowest point in Asia is the Dead Sea, which lies 400 metres (1,312 feet) below sea level. The Dead Sea is a salt lake that borders Jordan to the east and Israel to the west. It is one of the world’s most saline bodies of water, with a salinity content that is almost twice that of seawater.
