Why is Central Park famous?
If you ask someone who lives outside of New York City why they know anything about Central Park, chances are good that their answer would involve something like “because everyone knows it”. And, indeed, Central Park is very popular amongst tourists visiting New York City. It has one of the best-maintained urban forests in the entire country and attracts millions of visitors every year. The fact that Central Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted — the same man responsible for designing Boston Common, Beacon Hill Commons, and other major public spaces across the city — certainly helps its popularity too.
