What Was The Longest Phone Call In The World?

Have you ever considered how long the longest phone call in the world was? It lasted for a staggering 26 hours, 10 minutes and 50 seconds. A man from Georgia called Karel Afonin made the extraordinary feat happen when he called his friend in Kazakhstan on August 19th, 2005. Even more amazingly, Afonin managed to do it without getting disconnected or dropping the call! How amazing is that?

Afonin and his friend had been friends since they were teenagers, so it’s no surprise that this record-breaking call was made between the two. To make sure he didn’t get disconnected, Afonin put his phone in the freezer! This kept the temperature low enough for him to remain connected for over a day.

Throughout the 26 hours and 10 minutes, Afonin and his friend discussed life, current events, their families, and much more. The connection between them remained strong despite the incredible distance. By the time the call finally ended, Afonin had certainly made history!
