The lowest point in Asia is the Dead Sea, which lies 400 metres (1,312 feet) below sea level. The Dead Sea is a salt lake that borders Jordan to the east and Israel to the west. It is one of the world's most saline bodies of water, with a salinity content that is almost twice that of seawater.
