The coldest and driest biome is the tundra. The tundra is a treeless, flat land where the climate is cold and dry. The average temperature in the tundra is -28°C (-18°F), but it can get as low as -60°C (-76°F) in the winter. In the summer, the temperature can rise to 12°C (54°F). Precipitation in the tundra is very low, averaging only 10-20 cm (4-8 inches) per year.
